Acceptable Use Policy

This policy applies to everything submitted for a place — the logo or image, display name, description and destination link — and to how anyone uses the One Million Logos site and its services. It forms part of the Terms of Service.

One Million Logos is a shared public space seen by a broad audience. Submissions should be something you would be comfortable showing anyone, and must be yours to show.

Do not submit logos, names, descriptions or links that contain, promote or facilitate:

• Illegal content or activity — including the sale of illegal goods or services.
• Intellectual property infringement — logos, artwork, trademarks or brand names you do not own and are not authorised to use, including another company’s logo submitted without permission.
• Impersonation and fraud — pretending to be another person, brand or organisation, or implying an affiliation or endorsement that does not exist, or any other attempt to defraud people.
• Harassment and threats — content that targets, bullies, threatens or incites harm against people or groups.
• Hateful or dehumanising content — content that attacks or demeans people based on characteristics such as race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation.
• Sexually explicit content — pornography, nudity or sexualised imagery.
• Exploitation and abuse — any content that sexualises or endangers minors, or depicts or promotes exploitation or abuse of anyone.
• Terrorist or violent extremist content — symbols, propaganda or promotion of terrorist or violent extremist organisations or acts.
• Dangerous scams — get-rich-quick schemes, fake giveaways, pyramid schemes, or offers designed to deceive people out of money or personal information.
• Graphic violence or gore presented to shock.

Your destination link must lead to a legitimate site that you are entitled to promote. It must not:

• distribute malware, unwanted software or exploits;
• be used for phishing or to collect credentials or payment details deceptively;
• be deceptive — for example, a name or logo for one brand that sends visitors to an unrelated, misleading or imitation site;
• use redirect chains, cloaking or link shorteners to hide where it leads; or
• lead to content that this policy would not allow as a submission.

Links that later become harmful. You are responsible for your link for as long as your place is published. If a destination is later changed, taken over, expires and is re-registered, or starts serving harmful content, we may hide, suspend or remove the logo — even if the link was fine when it was approved.

Do not:

• submit spam, or use bots, scripts or automation to create submissions in bulk;
• create submissions designed to manipulate search, rankings or the appearance of the world;
• attempt to attack, overload, disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the service, its admin area, its payment flows or its infrastructure;
• circumvent rate limits, abuse protections, moderation or payment verification;
• scrape the site in a way that degrades it for others; or
• misuse payment methods, including using payment details you are not authorised to use.

Submissions are reviewed before publication, and published logos can be reviewed again at any time, for example after a report. Depending on the seriousness of the issue, we may:

• reject a submission before publication;
• hide a published logo while we investigate;
• suspend a logo, for example while a destination link is unsafe;
• permanently remove a logo; and
• refuse future submissions from the same person or organisation.

We apply this policy in good faith and aim to be consistent and proportionate. Where it is safe and practical, we will tell the participant why action was taken. We may act without notice where content is clearly harmful or illegal, or where a link is actively dangerous.

If a logo is hidden, suspended or removed, its assigned number remains permanently reserved and is not given to anyone else.

Whether any payment is refunded after enforcement is decided separately under the Refund Policy. Removal for a violation of this policy does not automatically entitle the participant to a refund.

If you believe a logo, description or link breaks this policy or infringes your rights, email legal@onemillionlogos.com with the logo number, the reason for your report and, for intellectual property claims, details showing that you own or represent the rights concerned.

We review reports and may hide a logo while we do. If you are the participant and you believe we made a mistake, reply to our message or contact us at the same address and we will take another look.

We may preserve relevant information and report unlawful content or activity to competent authorities where required by law or where reasonably appropriate.
